''Thanks again for all your help and support this year. You have made a huge difference...'' (see 'Reviews'). Please see 'More' for my pages in Welsh.

I'm Elise, a highly experienced, integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with an MSc. in Counselling (Bangor University), a Supervisory Counsellor (in training) and previous Music Therapist with the NHS, Ty Gobaith Hospice and Cyngor Gwynedd, Môn and Conwy. I work with children, adults, neurodiversity and in couple/family counselling. I work with you the person - not the issue.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and abide by their Ethical Framework. Professional public indemnity insurance is held, I have an advanced DBS, have regular, robust supervision, and attend regular (CPD) training to ensure I keep my skills and knowledge up to date. I follow all the current GDPR recommendations, making sure you feel safe and secure knowing that your personal information is being handled and stored correctly. I work in person from Caernarfon, N Wales and am fully qualified to work online.

I work with clients presenting difficulties including low confidence, stress and depression as well as loss, betrayal, relationship issues and bereavement. I am uniquely skilled with an extensive degree of experience in treating anxiety, OCD, PTSD, phobias, panic disorders, trauma, sexual abuse and addiction issues.

In a private, non-judgmental, and safe space you will be heard, valued and accepted. During our time together, I will try to listen to you deeply and to reflect back to you the questions and answers that you are formulating about your life and about your difficulties, so that you can see yourself in new and more nuanced ways. I try to help you make contact with parts of yourself that may have become disconnected and to illuminate patterns hidden to you.

Alongside my integrative and person-centered approach, I am an ACT trainer (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). The World Health Organisation now recommends ACT - and not CBT - for stress, anxiety, depression and trauma. Mindfulness is just one of ACT's 6 skills. I continually see how my clients, some of whom have been struggling for many years, benefit enormously from my unique integrative approach.

My fees are £40 per hour for individual and £60 for couple or family counselling.

If by learning about my work from this site you think I might be the right therapist for you, I look forward to hearing from you.
